getting trunk open

Got a 64 an it is missing the trunk lock on it the guy I got it off of would just take a screwdriver an hit something in the lock to get the trunk to open. Is there a way to get this trunk open I tried a screwdriver like he did an still cant get it to open.

If the lock is out get a flashlight and look in there and you'll see what size screw driver to use in the slot. If not take out the back seat and unbolt the latch assembly. Lots of extensions to reach it but it works
