RE: granada spindles
My advice to you is to have it machined so that the threaded part of the ball joint extends through the same length as it does on the original spindle. This will ensure that the cotter pin and lock nut will mate properly. You don't want the ball joint sitting down in too far. You will see that the knuckle where the ball joint sits in on the original spindle is thicker than the granada spindle, this will give you a slightly bigger gap between the knuckle and ball joint. Just cut a piece of 5/8 black hose and slip it over the ball joint shaft before connecting it to the spindle. This will keep dirt and dust from getting onto the exposed part of the shaft. If you look at the pictures of the conversion on this site, you will see what I mean. One of the reasons I said to send them out to Fat Mans is because it's cheap (about $60.00 which also includes the shipping cost back to you)and they know exactly what to do.
