    Color code

John got me all set with the tbirdregistry, I noticed though with a color code of H , he has it listed as Tahitian Bronze. My father has always called it Beechwood beige metalic, has he been wrong all these years?

    Color Code

    Hi Tom,

John has it listed as Beachwood Brown. I did not see any reference to Tahitian Bronze. According to this, H is M30J Paint Code/Color 1230 Beige Metallic with a Sales Name of Beachwood Brown. So your Dad has the two of the paint descriptions mixed together! lol. According to the Diztler Color Code Chart K was a 1959 Spring Color of Tahitian Bronze.

Ray, Thanks for showing the color chart, very interesting! John did make the change for me already. Pretty funny that Dad has called it beechwood beige metalic all these years.

        I have 1959 Thunderbird colour samples ( from ACRO Paints ) where Tahitian Bronze Metallic is coded "H" ( s-8446G 4268G ).

On the same chart, there is a lighter metallic colour called Sandstone Metallic, coded "K" ( S-8456G 4278G ).
From what I can see, your car seems to be closer to that colour than the Tahitian Bronze. As a matter of fact, my colorchip ( Sandstone ) looks spot on to the picture in your profile where you stand next to the car on your driveway.

But colors are VERY difficult to judge from pictures/prints/web.
Edit: I managed to scan the cheet, but I have a very cheep scanner, so colors are not perfect.

          Color Code

          Hi Anders,

Keep in mind that Gold Bird is a 1960 Tbird, not a '59. Therefore, external color code H is a different one than the 1959 color code H.
