    Window switch removal

Just finishing up the electric to all of the power windows. I have read the manual and to remove the switches, it says to take a small punch and depress retaining clip and slide it down...ya right!
I thought I would come here to see if there are any tricks to removing the switches which does not involve blood or a broken switch bezel.

Martin, perhaps this information in the Technical Resource Library (TRL) would help you. Here is the link to it and the pictures.

Thanx Ray, that was helpful. I used a small Allen wrench that I was able to finagle under the clip through the small side hole. But with 56 years, they needed a little coaxing to get out.
The pictures were helpful. To bad there is not a little more description on each picture.
I am replacing 3 out of the 4 switches. I have one newer switch that someone replaced that has a chrome plastic toggle...61 bird I think. It was the only one that worked fine. There was no sense in rebuilding the others as even the white plastic switch toggles were disintegrating.
      ...Thanx again
