Can anyone decode the following number from tag on my Carter carb.
Series:FKL, or maybe FK1
Type: OBA

I may not be able to give you all the answers.
FKL decodes as F=carter 4V K=430 L=Lincoln
OBA 0=1960 B=auto trans A=initial design
D= last half of Feb. this is a guess based on A being the first half od Jan.
In the front of the carb on the lip should be stamped the part number
COLE-9510-A
The information is part of the nex revision of the VTCI concours rules we have been working on. The info was from Alan Tast. amd Kevin W. The revision should be available by the end of the year.

According to the Thunderbird Restoration Guide by William Wonder on page 57, the 1960 T-Bird 430 with Cruise-O-Matic, Carter 4V has a tag number #FKL 0BA and a Ford Part Number of C0LE 9510-A
C0= 1960
