Surprised how high price went and no A/C.
Even sweet as this is I don't recall Flairbirds selling this high.

428, rated at 345hp. This is terrible. We get much more hp out of a naturally aspirated 390.

Curious, since I don't know, they went all Ford blue on the motor, air cleaner and water tank in 66?

        Yep, they ARE painted thus!
They even painted over some of the rubber hoses on the motor (heater hoses from memory) and when I got my '66 I initially thought somebody had given the motor a quick blow-over with blue paint to make it look good.
There are T-bird sites that can show you the correct '66 engine-bay paint schemes including the motor.

For some reason the Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas always gets prices that are 50-75% higher than the real world. I guess some people will pay anything to get on TV.

Another 1966 428 Tbird sold at Barrett Jackson Las Vegas.
Hardtop for hammered for $4500; add 10% buyer fee = $4950.
              Such a deal

This Red '66 Flairbird was not found in the Tbird Registry, so I just registered it. Thanks for posting the information regarding it, Bill.
