  • So anyone know a good carb re builder or go aftermarket?

Is there anyone out there the specializes in rebuilding the carbs on car like ours, in my case stock 1962 model.
Mine has been a hard starter since I got it, leaking a tiny bit out of the body seals, accelerator pump seal leaks. Recently it has been bogging out and trying to stop on me and is very hard to start once it does it. I thunk just from sitting so long and now driven a little more it just need a little run through and redone. If not a rebuild what would be a good after market model is a good good on.

Unless you want to stay totally stock ditch the 4100 and get an Edelbrock 1406. It likes the ethanol based fuels much better than the 4100 does even with a rebuild.

I can live without stock. Just store the old carb if I ever want to put it on. I assume the carb you suggest will fit using the stock air breather set up?

will I run into linkage issues? What can I expect when hooking this up. I have done a swap like this before but been ages ago.

You can use the stock linkage. You may just need to adjust the rod slightly shorter or longer. I had to screw it out slightly to make it longer when I did it.

You will need to find power for the electric choke. There are plenty of places to tap into.

That is for power only when ign is turned on right?

does this carb need to be tuned to the car or will it be pretty close to set up of the car, the needs it would put on the carb. Sorry prob not the right words I am using to get my concern across.

That's correct. If you have power windows you can tap off the relay on the firewall. Just remember it will also have power in the ACC position.

All new carbs should be adjusted for idle speed and air/fuel mixture but it's pretty close out of the box.

Will I use the factory spacer with this newer carb?

Looks like this would be a good rebuild kit?

I am going to replace the fuel filter also. Stupid question, does gas go all over the place when you pull it off the car?
