    Can anyone tell me what a driver is worth? 78K miles, sun roof, a/c, pwr. windows, pwr. brakes, pwr. steering, pwr. seat, windshield washers work, Cruis-O-Matic w/Overdrive, chrome engine dress-up kit, 430. Needs restoration but is drivable as is with a clear title, never wrecked.

    Anyone interested in one? What's it worth?

    I don't know what it's worth, but it sounds like an awesome car! I didn't know they made the cruise-o-matic with overdrive.

      Cruise-O-Matics did not have overdrive, though I have a friend who swears he had a '61 T-Bird with automatic, with a button on the floor for overdrive.

        The car has A/C, power windows, power seat, AM Radio, Power Brakes, and many more options. The car runs and drives. The owner has the top and the door panels are inside the car. He wants to sell it. I'd like to get it but don't have a transport from Indiania to California.

        100 bucks to me gets his name and number and he wants $7,500 FOB at his address. The car books low at 12K 24K average with a high of 60+K so it's well worth the price. I just don't think I sould even consider another one having been unable to finish the last one.

        The sun roof, 430 and AC add 75% to the cars value and about only 40 remain of the 377 total made. It's a rare one inteed and 99% original and intact.

          Goofy thought, but I wonder if an OD unit off the 3 spd Man trans would bolt to an A/T??? We know Ford never made an OVD automatic in those years.
          One of the popular "add on's" for the street rod guys is the Gearvendors Overdrive. It replaces the tailshaft. They were widely used in motorhomes before all of em came w/OVD.
          It would actually give you a 6 speed. 3 direct and 3 over. If you had 3.73's or 3.55's you'd have the best of all worlds. Quick around town acceleration and sweet smooth overdrive for the freeway. Go down the road at 75 taching 2500?? Prob get 20 mpg too.

              I "think" a Gear-Vendor is about $1700. I could be off a little.
              Plus figure the labor to shorten the drive shaft.
              Go on-line and look at em. Trick stuff . . . Seriously.
              Bulletproof too. They were putting them in motorhomes 15 or 20 years ago. They can handle big horsepower motors too.

              Not only would it get better mileage but the wear and tear on the eng is cut in half.

                I looked at their site, the prices were terrifying. Not much less than what I payed to buy the car in the first place.

                  Hmm . . . they've gone up a little. Those prices you saw were full tilt retail. NOBODY pays retail. Nobody I know. I can get one locally for about 1900. I'm in the parts business though.
                  Not that I'm going to run out and do that . . . But it is a good thought if someone with deep pockets wanted to do some freeway miles (across the country etc.)

                  While I'm at it, a 428 dressed up like a 352 and a C6 under there and that gear vendor . . .

                  Oh and disc brakes on the rear too as well as the front . . . You'd need em to stop a 4200 lb Sq/Bird that would go over 150 miles an hour

                      We had some horses a$$ here in SJ part out a J-Code S/roof because he couldn't find the title. I'll tell you what else he couldn't fine (with either hand)!!!
                      Shame too. It was all there.
