  • Need info on 59 Control Valve Rubber hoses

I want to replace the steel lines on my 60 that go from the control valve to the ram cylinder with rubber hose like the 58/59. I would have to have them made using 58/59 hoses as a model.

If anyone has a spare set from a 58/59 that I could borrow for measurements that would be the best. If anyone can give me measurements that might work too.

I also need a photo to see how they are routed when they are mounted in a 58/59.

Alot to ask of someone, but I thought that I'd give it a try.

For what it's worth, here's a pic of the new metal lines on my '60:

They were a bit of a pain to get in place and get threaded. If you can use flexible rubber lines, they should be easier.

Thanks Bob and Doug for the photos.

It's interesting to see that the 59 rubber hoses go under the pitman arm with a slight bend to the ram cylinder.

The 60 steel lines go over the pitman arm, and then have to make it back down under to the ram cylinder.

The 59 hoses look much easier to install. I wonder why they changed to the steel lines with all of the bends. Maybe on the 59, the lines could rub on the pitman arm, or hung low enough to be a possible problem.

If that was the reason, then they might have used steel lines on the 60 because it looks like the steel lines run near to the exhaust pipe.

I have a line out at my dad's shop that I bought for my 58, never got around to installing it. I could look for it this weekend when I am out there working on getting the rest of my stuff.

Yes. The total length of each line stretched out from end to end.

                Thanks

Thanks Rich. That's alot more than what I need.

That might be a good deal for someone who needs alot of those parts.

Hmm, each? I only have one .

I was working on replacing the lines from the power steering and I ordered it by mistake with those lines... forgot about it being two lines.

One is OK. They are both pretty much the same.
