Didn't know how hard it was to add the holes in covers without them, or is that how the factory (dealers??) did it?

It's not that hard at all. I don't know if the kits come with a template but if they don't you can transfer the screw holes in the centers to a piece of paper and use that as a template. None of the hubcaps came with pre-drilled holes so either the dealer or the customer had to do it.

OK, thanks. Now I just have to decide if I want to drill holes in my original caps, or try to find another set.

I tried to look for caps that had a dented or scraped center since it was going to be covered up. They were usually cheaper than ones that were perfect. Of course I used to buy them for $1 or $2 a piece back then. Most of the people selling hubcaps had no idea what they fit. They just knew they weren't Chevy's.

I bet there is a set somewhere in dads basement, I mean the rest of his 60 is still there in the garage. Finding them?, that could take a month (or 6).

Are they stainless steel? The reason I ask is that years ago I found a JC Whitney replacement sunburst hubcap but it was chrome plated. Strange. I might still have it.

Unfortunately repro parts are going to be roughly the same price no matter where you get them. You might save a dollar or two by shopping around but that's about it unless you can find someone who has a set they want to get rid of.

Rats - thanks John. I'll be on the lookout but it's way down on my to do list - Henry mentioned it first so he deserves first shot.

I see them from time to time on flea bay but by the time you pay shipping from 4 different individuals they're not such a good buy unless they're really cheap. Don't think I've ever seen a set of 4 used on there - only a set that included the hubcaps.

Got to get that fan shroud bought and installed first.........

You can pony up 150. each and get the Sun Ray emblems already attached to brand new (Ford License) 59-60 Wheel Covers.

SunRay Centers

Are these the same centers?These wheel covers were fitted to some 1970's Ford Zodiacs and Zephyrs but these were on my Squarebird when I first bought it.
I see now that they don't have the lines radiating out from the center as in the Mac's picture
