    1960 Squarebird Fan Shroud

    I was perusing the The Mystery of the 1960 Thunderbird Fan Shroud

    (Still On A learning Curve Regarding This Period BIRD)

    The Mystery of the 1960 Thunderbird Fan Shroud

    Supposedly a few late model 1960 Thunderbirds with air-conditioning were equipped with fan shrouds. No one has been able to document that these were put on at the factory.

    The 60/64 FORD MPC lists the shroud(s) as service replacement pats;

    60 BIRD (W AC) 352,430 UPPER C1AZ 8147-A
    60 BIRD (W AC) 352,430 LOWER C0SS 8148-A (NR)

    The PN C1AZ 8147-A is actually a FORD (Full Size) PN. It is listed for the 1960/1961 FORD. Whether the BIRD had it's own unique upper shroud and then was replaced by the FORD PN is not indicated.

    The lower shroud was BIRD unique but was discontinued.

    There are no shroud listings in the 49/59 MPC other than 55/57 BIRD, so the shroud was made available on the 1960 BIRD model run first (according to the MPC)
