  • Before you fork over the $

First, I love this forum, and all the tips and advice. Great to have a resource and community like this. So, I've got a tip for you too.. before you buy maintenance parts from a specialty supplier, check autozone.. I know, that sounds ridiculous.. but if I didn't know better, I'd swear someone in that company has a soft spot for old fords.
Don't believe me? Just a sample of some of the very specific things they carry.. not to mention the tons of run-of-the-mill parts they carry

When I did my brakes a few years ago I picked up a wheel cylinder from Autozone for something like $13. I think I also bought my fuel pump there, or maybe from Napa. Similar price, maybe lower, to the T'bird specialty houses.

I buy stuff from them all the time. Another good one is OReilly/Kragen.
