  • Rear Diff.

About to be getting the rear axle overhauled on my '60 Bird.

Aren't our stock rear diff's like a Ford 8.75" instead of the more common 9"?

No, they are 9" rear ends.

Well, that will make buying a rebuild much more easy then.

      Thanks,

AXLE bearings are the larger size. Bearing # is 88128R. Oil seal # is 51098. Housing end gaskets are Fel-Pro #10720 (requires 4).

(is that what you were asking?)

Ordered everything last night from Summit Racing Co.

I'm now looking for a spider gear shaft. Ford base PN#4211 in our illustrations.

I'm sure they are available new, anyone have a PN# for NAPA or aftermarket parts store to start with??

The 58/60 RG size was 8.75". During the 60 or 61 model run, the RG size went to 9". Same housing.
