factory "insulation" material under the dash

After removing my dash frame, I saw that several areas of the cowl had thin sheets of "mouse-nest" type material glued to it. It was thinner and more fragile that the stuff used underneath the carpeting; and it was pretty old and nasty. I've removed it, but some real tough black adhesive still remains.

I'm certain that dynamat won't stick to it.

Has anyone else figured out what to use here, or should I just forget about it?

Here's a pic of the area between where the two defrost ducts will attach:

The area under the trim on either side of the dash where the washer hoses come out has the same stuff. I was just going to use foam padding. Probably 1/4 or 3/8.

Dakota Boy, are you going to put in electric wipers while you have it apart. I just did mine and it was really easy with the dash out.

Nope. I figure I'll save the 250 bucks and use it towards some fordpowertrain headers in the Spring.

If it looks like rain, the car stays in the garage anyways.
