You did good Tony. You did good.

Does she sport solid leather seats or the 2-tone vinyl?

    boot sag

No boot sag,,, before painting i had my friend the panel beater bend and twist and align the deck, boot lid and refit . When i started the build six years ago the lid sat down in each corner... This guy is really good ...

It actually sits in very well

Thanks for the comment on the color,, only need to choose some wheels

I want to know what he done to get rid of that rear corner deck lid droop that these old bird are notorious for? I don't see any adjustment screws!

Thanks, Carl! I have added this thread to the TRL for future use. I am sure this question will come up again in the future.

Wow...nice fresh paint on that car!

Here's my trunk lid gasket. Although it is really dry and old-looking, I have no way to prove if it is original or not. No slit; just a half-moon shape, with the flat side glued to the lid.

The "slit" you see is not really a slit, just where the gasket has formed itself around the metal lip on the body.

Sorry if this only confuses the matter for you...

I just put a new one on a few weeks ago. the old one was like the top pic. with the open part facing toward inside the trunk. I'm pretty sure the old one had never been replaced before.
I think i did it right if not i guess i have to live with it.

started a topic Trunk Seal Question

    Trunk Seal Question

Tony, from Down Under, is about to put his new trunk seal on his Squarebird but has some questions as to which way it goes. I do not remember which way mine was installed on my trunk lid. I think the rounded part was glued to the trunk lid with the slit area down so it could slip into the raised ridge around the trunk area. But I don't remember for sure. Because I added the Thunderbird panel to my trunk lid, I had to slip mine over the raised ridge around the trunk and glued it in place. Here is what Tony is asking and also I will post some pix he sent.

"last job and its got me perplexed,, which way does the trunk seal glue to the deck?
    split facing out?
    split facing in?"

    Here are the pix
