On my 1960 thunderbird, the engine compartment is all original down to the belts and most hoses, but I question the air cleaner. It is of correct style and shape but has a curious hole about 1/2" in diameter on the passenger side towards the back (on the side of the air cleaner). There are two screw holes on eather side it. It (the hole) appears to be original for there is no paint around it (has a perfect rectangle shape of no paint around the hole which indicates to me a part was originaly attached there). I have never seen this on Any other squarebird. It is a 352. The car is from Californis if that helps. Thanks for helping out the new kid!:+

RE: air cleaner question
That hole was not there originally. That hole was put in by one of the owners in the late sixties or later to attach a PCV valve system. I put one on the bottom of my air cleaner.

RE: air cleaner question
Yep, That danged rectangular adapter has ruined many an air cleaner out here! I sell a lot of various air cleaners and I hate that little bugger! LOL In California in the 70's we were required to retrofit our cars with closed emission sytems for the crankcase and that rectangular adapter was by far the most common! Hawkrod
