    I put something together for you guys who are tired of changing your brake switch (mounted on your master cylinder). Guys using DOT5 are well used to changing them as the fluid attacks the switch and renders it useless. (Then the brake lines must be bled.) For looks, you can leave the old switch and add a new mechanical switch at the brake pedal.

    My ideas aren't new. New cars use a switch at the brake pedal, and they usually energize a relay to turn on the brake lights.

    I am in the process of changing my '59 Galaxie from a 3-speed column stick, to a column shift Cruise-O-Matic. In order to do that, I have to change the steering column and brake pedal support. Conveniently, I have both ready to go in.

    Yesterday, I pulled my 292 Y-block,
