Hello everyone. It has been awhile since I have been on, I hope that all is well. I have been slowly accumulating the needed parts to restore my 59 J-Code convertible. I am trying to understand what the correct tail lite lenses are. Is it a Glo Brite
or a FoMoCo brand? Was Glo Brite a replacement? Trying to bring this bird back to stock condition.
Thanks for the help

Jim,

The correct lens is the FOMOCO branded lens. Glo-Brite was a company that made aftermarket lenses for most American vehicles.

Thanks John,

I thought that would be the case.

I had a Glo-brite on my car when I bought it. That lens was a bit brighter than the other Ford ones; if I recall correctly.

I have good things to say about Glo-Brite. Ford dealerships also carried them back in the day. Their quality was every bit as good at better prices.

Globe Specialty Company has been making lenses since 1949.

"Branded" FoMoCo parts are also available at the parts stores but now, they cost a lot more. - Dave
